Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere – MLK Jr., Letter from a Birmingham Jail

November
Two thousand twenty-four
The marker of
For a new year.

A year of fear.
A year of anger.
A year of violence.
A year of destruction.

A year
of a red storm.

November
two thousand twenty-five.

A glimmer of hope.
A glimmer of joy.
A glimmer of peace.

We do not stop now.
We can not stop now.

The glimmer is not a victory.
It is a step.
A chance.
A push.

The blue wave rolled in

But unlike other waves…
we cannot let this one
roll out again.

We have seen what silence brings.
We have lived what apathy costs.
So now,
we raise our voices higher
than the flood from the storm.

We speak for the lost.
We fight for the living.
We dream for the ones
Who are still afraid to dream.

Now,
We are not the storm
We are the sea.

We are the motion
That persists.
We are the current
that carves new shores
And creates new formations.

The wave is not ending.
It’s beginning again.

Keep the power
of the wave
alive!
